What a great way to get children excited about school and about reading. Way to go Snow Horse Elementary. Thursday night March 3rd I was able to be part of Reading Week at Snow Horse Elementary in Kaysville. Family Fairytale Festival was the activity I participated in. The theme was "Get Tangled in a good book". Families were encouraged to dress up in fairytale attire. Sticking with the "fairytale" theme, I was the local "princess" and wore my gown, sash and crown. I read twice as a guest reader. I read "Who Wants A Dragon?" and "The Paper Bag Princess". There was readers set up in one corner and activities going on around. Making swords and magic wands, a refreshment area, and a "store" where kids were able to do a book exchange. It was so much fun and a wonderful way to get our community and children involved in the importance of reading! What a success Snow Horse Elementary, and thank you for letting me part of it!
